Testing Information

Testing is an important way for us to measure how our students are learning and growing, and to ensure our school is providing students with what they need to be successful.

Students at Century may take a variety of tests. The two most common tests - which are taken by the majority of our students - are the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) and Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measures of Academic Performance.

For more information about our testing program, contact your child's guidance counselor, or visit any of the links below.

EXPLORE Test for 8th Graders

Century 8th grade students will have an opportunity to take the EXPLORE Test on Saturday, February 7, 8:00 am to 11:30 am. The EXPLORE Test is a tool for 8th grade students to explore their academic skills and interests, and to investigate career ideas and options. The test includes a career assessment component and sections which assesses skills in English, Math, Science and Reading. Through EXPLORE, students begin to understand their academic strengths and weaknesses early in their educational development when they have the greatest opportunity to establish a four-year program of studies that will help them achieve their educational career goals. The EXPLORE test is a part of a comprehensive system of assessments that help prepare and plan for high school and training they pursue beyond completing high school.

As 10th graders they will have the opportunity to take the PLAN Test which provides additional feedback on educational progress and career interests. In 11th grade, students can take the ACT Test, which is commonly used as a college entrance requirement. Through this unique sequence of related assessments, students receive information related to career exploration as well as preparation for schooling after high school.
